ABOUT US

Bonaparte Sales Limited Partnership (BSLP), owned by Bonaparte First Nation, originally founded in 2015 to work towards a sustainable economic future within the greater St’uxwtews community.

Protecting Our Future

The members of Bonaparte work to encourage and assist community members in seeking out economic opportunities and financial investments to ensure the long-term financial health of the territory.

Over the years, it’s been proven that the community’s social, cultural, and general well-being will thrive with an influx of entrepreneurial endeavours and own-sourced revenue. Own-sourced revenue has the added benefit of providing the St’uxwtews Nation with greater control and autonomy. Bonaparte Sales Limited Partnership is designed to help members stay autonomous while finding resources and business models that will help the community prosper and thrive.

Our Secwepemc

Roots

St’uxwtews (Bonaparte First Nation, formerly known as Bonaparte Indian Band), is a member band of the Shuswap Nation Tribal Council of the Secwépemc (Shuswap) people. The Band is located west of Cache Creek on about 1,878 hectares of land. The band is separated into nine (9) sections, and has a membership of about 900.

St’uxwtews has a long history of success in trading, farming, hunting, and fishing, our goal is to marry traditional economic activities with modern business practices to help support future generations of St’uxwtews community.

Growing Partnerships

Many business opportunities have been realized by partnering with the Bonaparte First Nation Natural Resources Department (also known as BSLP). These types of partnerships will continue to be sourced and nurtured to help grow our footprint throughout the community and into different industries and business sectors.

To that end, Bonaparte’s leadership has agreements with government and industry stakeholders in the traditional territory under:

  • Oil and Gas
  • Forestry

New Opportunities

We are also developing strong partnerships to help develop tourism. This will help our community share our cultural values with a broader audience while helping develop new, sustainable income streams.  Tourism is currently being developed within the St’uxwtews Pesuten Heritage Society in the following areas of the Nation:

Partnerships with governmental organizations and tourism allows us to continue to be stewards of the land while taking advantage of new revenue avenues. We plan to expand our agreements and seek out new partnerships in the coming months to help grow local business opportunities.
